Odisha Cabinet approved Ayurvedic and Homeorpathy Medical Service Rule 2013

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cabinet held today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken important decisions regarding Odisha Ayurvedic Medical Services, Odisha Homeopathic Medical Services and Odisha Homeopathic Medical Education Services.

Chief Secretary Bijay KumarPatnaik after the Cabinet Meeting briefed the Press that for providing better health care to people right type of Ayurvedic Medical Officer need to be appointed in a fare competitive selection process. For the purpose, a set of rules regulating recruitment and promotion of such Medical Officers has been approved by Cabinet today.

The recruitment and promotion of Ayurvedic Medical Officers will be regulated by this new Odisha Ayurvedic Medical Service Rules, 2013 as per provisions approved today in the Cabinet. In this cadre, Group-B will be the entry level. The posts in the Group-B include the Ayurvedic Medical Officers, Drug Inspectors (Ayurveda), Scientific Officer (ISM) and Specialist in Government Ayurved Hospitals. There will be direct recruitment to these posts through Public Service Commission, Odisha. The recruitment process has been standardized with specific provisions for the selection. Out of a total of 100 marks 30 mark has been earmarked for carrier and 70 marks have been earmarked for written test. The written test will be objective type including multiple choice questions. Out of the 30 marks earmarked for carrier, 10 marks each has been earmarked for matriculation, +2 Science and B.A.M.S. Degrees. Group A (Junior Branch) posts in this cadre includes District Ayurvedic Medical Officers, Deputy Superintendents of Government Ayurvedic Hospital. Group ±A (Senior Branch) posts include Deputy Director (Ayurved), Directorate of Ayush.

Cabinet have also approved similar rules for Homeopathic Medical Services. In this cadre Group-B posts include District Homeopathy Medical Officer, Deputy Superintendent, Odisha Medical College of Homeopathy & Research. The Group-A (Junior Branch) includes the posts of Chief Medical Officer (Homeopathy), Office of The Directorate of Ayush, Group-A (Senior Branch) includes Deputy Director (Homeopathy), Office of The Directorate of Ayush.

For impacting better teaching & training in Homeopathic Medical Colleges the Cabinet has also approved a set of rules regulating recruitment of Odisha Homeopathic Medical Education Service Rules, 2013. In this cadre Group-B is the entry level which includes the post of Lecturers. Group ±A is the promotional level which includes posts.
